Star billing for Rolls-Royce in Paris went to the Phantom ‘Metropolitan Collection’ – a handcrafted bespoke model with only 20 planned for commission.
Rolls-Royce says the new model pays homage to the world’s great metropolises with meticulous use of marquetry – for example the folding picnic tables each feature 500 individual wood veneer pieces and take days to hand-make.
The ‘Aetherius Grey’ leather colour reflects the colour palette of a modern city and the 6,800 two-tone stitches for the central rear seat flutes represent an abstract image of a skyscraper and for the first time, the bespoke clock has a rotating bezel to select time zones in 24 of the world’s great cities.
The car shown by Rolls-Royce in Paris was painted in ‘Darkest Tungsten’ to again reflect city skylines, but if that’s not your cup of tea, don’t worry you can still order your Rolls-Royce Phantom ‘Metropolitan Collection’ in one of the 44,000 available Rolls-Royce colours.
