New colours & alloys keep it looking fighting-fit.
Italian marque Alfa Romeo have rolled out model-year updates to its long-serving Giulietta hatchback which, despite its age, still looks remarkably current and remains one of the prettiest hatchbacks in the segment. The updates were shown at the Geneva motor show which, at the time of writing, is still ongoing.
The MY19 Giulietta now packs a few more extras than it used to. Visconti Green now joins the paint palette, new 18-inch alloys get fitted as standard, and the cabin now features better materials & upholstery options. In Europe, the Giulietta will be offered in no less than 5 trim levels, to ensure that there’s a Giulietta for everyone.
Engine options remain unchanged, with an 87kW 1.4-turbo the sole petrol option, while the diesel offerings are made up of a 2.0-litre Multijet with 125kW that replaces the 1.8-litre turbo-petrol Giulietta Veloce engine as the flagship, as well as a smaller 1.6-litre turbodiesel with 87kW too, like the petrol. Only the 2.0-litre gets Alfa Romeo’s TCT dual-clutch 6-speed auto as standard, with the rest get do-it-yourself transmissions instead.
The MY19 Giulietta also offers up no less than six accessory packages to allow for greater personalisation, with owners able to pick between the Business Pack, Convenience Pack, Carbon Look Pack (no prizes for guessing what this entails), Red or Yellow Racing Packs, and the Tech Pack.
